Our passion is to see children fulfil their potential by helping them overcome some of the challenges associated with growing up.
As demand from parents and professionals looking for us to support children increased, we realised they needed a dedicated team to look after them. So we combined our experience, knowledge and skills in working with children into a dedicated service - OT Practice Kids.
OT Practice Kids brings together a team of specialists who fully understand the needs of both children and parents. The team is managed by a leading paediatric occupational therapist providing expert oversight and office based support.
We aim to make children and those who support them, independent of us, not dependent upon our services. To achieve this we believe the best place to see a child is in their own environment. Therefore, OT Practice Kids therapists travel to see a child at home or school rather than operating a clinic setting.

Marie currently works in a community team for children (5-19 years) with complex needs, alongside her role in a rehabilitation unit for adults with acquired brain injury. She offers to clients a wealth of experience and knowledge in the areas of neurological rehabilitation particularly in the area of brain injury, stroke and paediatrics with complex needs. Marie is skilled in providing comprehensive assessments for specialist seating, moving and handling, home adaptations and school based interventions. Her postgraduate training includes neurological splinting, stroke rehabilitation and upper limb courses from the National Centre for Rehab Education. She travels around the Wirral visiting clients, including areas of Birkenhead, West Kirby and Wallasey, as well as visiting clients in the West Midlands and Wales.
Since qualifying in 2003, Marie is committed to keeping up to date with continued professional development and regularly attends training and courses to enable her to do so. She is a member of the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section in Neurological Practice.
Marie has extensive experience in the field of neurological occupational therapy, spending her career working in acute units, rehabilitation units and in the community. Claire is an expert Paediatric Occupational Therapist based in Hertfordshire. She visits clients around the South East of England including Buckinghamshire, Essex, and parts of London. Claire has spent much of her career in child and adolescent mental health services and has experience working with children with behavioural difficulties, eating disorders, psychosis, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and self-harming behaviour. Shira is one of our Paediatric OTs based in London, offering specialist assessments and treatments for children with a wide range of needs. This includes challenges with gross and fine motor skills, handwriting, visual perception, balance and coordination, and postural management.
Shira works with children to develop creative and bespoke therapy plans, focusing on self-care skills such as dressing and washing, organisation and planning skills, and confidence building. Shira aims to help every child meet their full potential, building the strength and coordination to undertake physical activities and independent play. She also specialises in fine motor skills such as handwriting, helping a child to strengthen hand muscles and improve dexterity. Shira also helps to develop a child’s social interaction skills, supporting them to build friendships and access community activities.
