Helena

Based in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, Helena provides expert Occupational Therapy services across the Northeast region, including the Scottish Borders. With specialisations in Paediatrics, Functional Rehabilitation, and Neurological Rehabilitation, she offers tailored support for children, young people, and their families. Helena’s expertise encompasses daily living skills, fine motor and handwriting development, visual-motor skills, postural management, sensory regulation, and school-based therapy. She has worked extensively with a range of conditions, including Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder, and more.

Helena is HCPC-registered, having earned her BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Northumbria University in 2018. She holds additional qualifications in Sensory Integration, Kinesio UK, and Bobath therapy, further enriching her practice. Her interventions are rooted in family and client-centred care, focusing on advocacy and creative problem-solving to achieve the best outcomes. Helena is skilled in conducting assessments and developing personalised intervention plans that support young people in home, school, residential, and clinical settings.

Additionally, Helena has experience supporting stroke survivors through her work with a national charity, helping individuals achieve their maximum potential during recovery. She is a proud member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and continually seeks opportunities to expand her expertise through training, research, and engagement with professional networks.
