Sylwia

Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2014, Sylwia has specialised in Paediatrics. She works with children ages 3-15 diagnosed with ASD, AD(H)D, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Motor, Perceptual, Handwriting and Self-Regulating Difficulties, Sensory Differences and Neuromuscular Disabilities. To identify children’s Fine and Gross Motor, and Perceptual needs, Sylwia provides Functional Assessments. Sylwia works in both mainstream and specialist schools.

She works in a variety of rehabilitation settings where she provides effective intervention, helping clients to participate in activities. Her work includes comprehensive assessments, report writing; and a multi-disciplinary approach with case officers, tribunal officers and special educational needs coordinators; in order achieve the best outcomes for her clients. Also, Sylwia has delivered workshops, responded to Help Line queries and provided Link Therapist services.

Gaining a master’s has helped her to develop her knowledge of evidence-based practice and deepen her critical thinking skills. Over the years, Sylwia has established core competencies through practical experience, personal research, expert supervision, attendance of specialist training courses and post graduate modules. This has helped her to develop a high-level of clinical reasoning that is essential to assessing and treating patients who have highly complex needs.
