We aim to give people their independence
Independence both in daily living and from ongoing OT treatment. Here we explain the way we work to ensure we provide the very best clinical care in an ethical way that helps our clients achieve their goals as soon as possible.
Our aim is to identify our clients needs and work with them to set achievable goals, which we use to benchmark progress. We do not advocate open ended treatment plans – we believe in delivering treatment with clear goals that we are accountable for achieving within set timeframes. We therefore normally recommend treatment sessions in fixed blocks (usually no more than eight at a time) after which we assess progress before making any recommendation for further treatment or discharge.
We do not have waiting lists and we aim to see clients within seven days of referral. Within 14 days of referral we aim to have a comprehensive assessment report written, reviewed and delivered to you. Where treatment is required we will plan and agree an appropriate schedule that works for you.
As occupational therapists our role is to help you overcome challenges with day to day activities. Observing the natural environment in which these challenges occur plays a vital role in helping your OT find and implement practical and realistic solutions. All of our assessments and treatments take place in your chosen environment (whether at home or school) to ensure our approach is truly client centred.
We understand that to deliver exception service and clinical care you need to invest in the building blocks to achieve it. The foundations of The OT Practice is built on the following core elements we believe are critical to delivering exceptional service and care...
From your initial enquiry to discharge you will have an experienced, office based OT as your point of contact to manage your case and ensure quality. They are responsible for your case from the moment you first enquire and will remain your primary point of contact through to discharge. Firstly they will aim to fully understand your needs and recommend how to proceed base on sound clinical knowledge, then working with you to select the most appropriate OT in our team to provide care.
We manage many cases at any one time and have hundreds of OTs working in the community so ensuring every case runs smoothly requires dependable processes and systems. We have refined our processes and invested in bespoke systems to provide the foundation to The OT Practice operations, always ensuring the experience for our clients is enhanced not encumbered by any processes or systems we use.
OT Practice therapists form the largest team of independent occupational therapists in the country and have all passed a strict selection, interview and registration process to ensure we only have the best therapists on our team. Clinical skills and experience are essential, but to become an OT Practice therapist our team members must also demonstrate a proven track record of the right attitude to customer service and have an energetic and innovative approach.
