International Opportunities
Early 2019 saw The OT Practice attending the prestigious Arab Health conference held at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Dubai.
A 4 day event, Arab Health is the largest gathering of healthcare and trade professionals in the world with over 4,400 leading healthcare companies from 70 countries exhibiting and 84,000 delegates in attendance. The event also allows individual countries to showcase the best of their health care products and services to international colleagues in their exclusive Country Pavilions.
We were invited to attend the event as part of the UK Country Pavilion and our agenda was to further develop an understanding around the potential avenues for international collaboration. We were extremely proud to be ambassadors for Occupational Therapy in the UK and ‘fly the flag’ for the professions diverse range of skills and expertise. During the event we attended meetings with some leading private hospitals and rehabilitation providers both in the UK and UAE and forged positive alliances for the future.
Feedback from meetings held at the event and our own reflections reinforced the message that the UK’s rehabilitation assessment and treatment practices for both adults and children, are considered to be amongst the very best in the world. Our knowledge and expertise are highly sought after with a refreshingly positive recognition over the UK’s high standards of clinical care.
International work is becoming increasingly popular at The OT Practice, with an expanding destination portfolio of South Africa, Los Angeles, Oman, Dubai, Greece and Monaco. We are proud to be establishing a brand confidence in our international therapy provision. Our therapists have been commissioned to work overseas by a wide variety of clients including a number of case managers, solicitors, health care concierge partners and private individuals. A wide variety of specialist skills have been requested from supporting high end home alterations to allow for the resident to return and remain at home post surgery through to complex neuro rehab programmes for a client being repatriated following a brain injury on holiday.
Not only are our services in demand overseas but also here in the UK from international clients traveling here, often to London, for specialist elective interventions. The summer months in particular brings a high number of enquiries from clients planning on spending time here to holiday and access health care services concurrently.
We have developed a handpicked team of skilled clinicians experienced in working across various continents and cultures with professionalism and sensitivity. If you have a client who is being repatriated or you are managing a complex case overseas, we would be delighted to discuss if occupational therapy can support your client. Call our team on 0330 024 9910 to discuss your requirements.
