Celebrating Dedication: The OT Practice Long Service Lunch and Awards Ceremony
The OT Practice recently held a memorable Long Service Lunch and Awards Ceremony, a warm gathering to honour the dedication, hard work, and loyalty of our exceptional occupational therapists who have been with us for many years, with some celebrating over a decade of service. This event was not only a celebration of their contributions but also an opportunity to bring together our wider OT Practice community, allowing colleagues and the head office team to connect, many for the first time in person. Held in Twickenham, with a first class view of the pitch where England rugby were playing only a few days previous, the afternoon featured a delightful afternoon tea, with an atmosphere filled with appreciation, shared memories, and new connections.
Throughout the event, the team shared stories, experiences, and insights, with conversations ranging from professional growth to everyday joys and challenges in independent occupational therapy practice. Many reflected on the diversity of opportunities and the ability to think creatively and "outside of the box" for the clients they had looked after, on behalf of The OT Practice.
One therapist noted how her work with The OT Practice has enriched her career journey and she went on to reflect on the positive influence this experience has had on her contributions to her local services highlighting the far-reaching impact of The OT Practice network.
"I have really appreciated the amazing opportunities for professional development while working with The OT Practice. It has provided me with just the right mix of challenge alongside my day job and has probably helped me stay in my current job role longer than I thought I would."
Nikki Thompson, founder and Executive Director of The OT Practice shared her heartfelt thanks to the dedication of the associate team, many of whom she had worked directly alongside for many years. Paul Cooper, Professional Head of Occupational Therapy at The OT Practice, delivered an inspiring overview of the outstanding work happening across the organisation over the past year. He highlighted glowing customer feedback that reflected the excellence of the team, while also sharing exciting upcoming developments set to transform occupational therapy practice. It was a powerful celebration of achievements and a glimpse into an innovative future for The OT Practice.
The awards presentation celebrated not only years of service but also highlighted the impact that many of The OT Practice dedicated associates have had on clients, colleagues, and the broader OT Practice community. Just one example shared included;
"Her commitment to her work is evident in her ability to handle even the most clinically complex cases. Her assessments and interventions have been transformative, helping many navigate their challenges and achieve goals they would not otherwise have been able to."
The feedback from attendees demonstrated the success of the event, highlighting the positive atmosphere, thoughtful recognition, and the unique opportunity to form valuable connections with the OT Practice team.
"Thank you so much for the wonderful experience of meeting you all on Monday afternoon at The OT Practice event in Twickenham. Thank you too for the very unexpected award and for your kind words. It was a wonderful afternoon, and I loved meeting some of the Office Team and other Associates.”
As we look forward to more events that celebrate our therapists, the Long Service Lunch and Awards Ceremony remains a proud reminder of the community and support that is so valued by The OT Practice.
