Our therapists assess and treat clients in the UK and travel overseas on behalf of our healthcare concierge partners. We have a hand-picked team of skilled clinicians experienced in working across various continents and cultures, and with professionalism and sensitivity.

OT Practice Kids

OT Practice Kids provides expert children's occupational therapy through a nationwide network of skilled paediatric therapists. We provide assessments and treatment to children at home or school, working with parents, schools, local education authorities and case managers to deliver tailored services to each child. Your call will be answered by our in-house paediatric client manager, who has more than two decades' experience working with children as a senior OT and will support you throughout your involvement with us.

Understanding your needs

Your relationship with us will be managed by an experienced occupational therapist from your very first call to us.

They are perfectly placed to listen to and understand your requirements, as well as provide initial advice while we arrange a more detailed assessment. Our OT can then visit you or your client either in the UK or overseas.

Services

Assessments

Covering all areas of occupational therapy, our comprehensive assessment packages identify areas of difficulty and recommend what can be done to address them. Assessments are typically carried out in clients' own homes, whether in the UK or overseas, although in some circumstances a consulation over Skype can provide us with the information needed to support them.

Treatment

Treatment packages are bespoke to the needs of each client and available immediately after assessment if desired. Sessions are usually delivered in blocks of eight sessions to allow for goal setting, measurement and review. Treatment through The OT Practice is delivered in clients' own homes for as long as is clinically necessary, and at times arranged to suit them.

Equipment

Following an assessment, out OT can recommend equipment to maximise independence and safety. We can arrange for equipment to be transported and installed overseas if required, as well as provide any demonstrations and training necessary for its proper use.

Home modifications

Accidents, illness and ageing often require home modifications to maintain a client's independence and safety. Whether oriented towards using the bathroom, accessing different floors or installing specialist sensory rooms for children, our team is perfectly placed to provide the advice, specifications and support to achieve these.

Carer training

Training can be provided to family or carers in specific treatment methods identified through the assessment. Whoever the audience, our team are used to delivering training to carers in an accessible, easily-understood manner.

From your initial enquiry to discharge you will have an experienced, office based OT as your point of contact to manage your case and ensure quality, consistency and timeliness. Firstly they will aim to fully understand your needs and recommend how to proceed base on sound clinical knowledge, working with you to select the most appropriate OT in our team to provide care.

Our processes & systems

We manage many cases at any one time and have hundreds of OTs working in the community so ensuring every case runs smoothly requires dependable processes and systems. We have refined our processes and invested in bespoke systems to provide the foundation to The OT Practice operations, always ensuring the experience for our clients is enhanced not encumbered by any processes or systems we use.

We have the largest team of private OT’s in the UK and all passed a strict selection, interview & registration process to ensure we only have the best therapists on our team. Clinical skills and experience are essential, but to become an OT Practice therapist our team members must demonstrate a track record of professionalism and the right attitude to customer service, as well as having an energetic and innovative approach.

Our client’s experience

In 2013 Catrin was returning from a ski season in the French Alps when the coach she was travelling in lost control and burst into flames. Commonly asked questions by international clients

Will your occupational therapists travel abroad?

Yes, our team can travel internationally to assess and treat clients in their own homes.

If we travel to the UK, where do you conduct your assessments and treatments?

We see clients in their own homes, hospitals, rehabilitation settings, hotels or rented accommodation. We will travel to provide specialist intervention wherever it is needed.

Can you assist with repatriation?

Whether a client is returning from a scheduled surgical or investigative procedure in the Uk or becomes unwell whilst here, our team ensure there is no break in rehabilitation when returning home. We can travel to a client's home before they return to ensure that the environment is meeting their needs, equipment in place and carers fully trained. Alternatively we can fly home or visit afterwards, our service is tailored to meet each clients unique requirements.

Do you have therapists that speak different languages?

Yes, as part of our therapist induction process we establish fluency in other languages to help us match the right therapist to a client with specific language needs. With such a sizeable network we have been able to build up fairly wide variety of languages spoken throughout out the team. If you require an OT with a specific language please speak to one of our client managers who will be able to see who within our network would be most suitable.

Are your therapists briefed on cultural diversities?

Before travelling overseas our therapists receive a detailed cultural briefing from our HR team. You can feel reassured that the therapist traveling to see your client is fully versed in the cultural sensitivities of their destination.
