Marie is a specialist in the field of neurological rehabilitation for both adults and paediatrics. Marie currently works in a community team for children (5-19 years) with complex needs, alongside her role in a rehabilitation unit for adults with acquired brain injury. She offers to clients a wealth of experience and knowledge in the areas of neurological rehabilitation particularly in the area of brain injury, stroke and paediatrics with complex needs. Marie is skilled in providing comprehensive assessments for specialist seating, moving and handling, home adaptations and school based interventions. Her postgraduate training includes neurological splinting, stroke rehabilitation and upper limb courses from the National Centre for Rehab Education. She travels around the Wirral visiting clients, including areas of Birkenhead, West Kirby and Wallasey, as well as visiting clients in the West Midlands and Wales.

Since qualifying in 2003, Marie is committed to keeping up to date with continued professional development and regularly attends training and courses to enable her to do so. She is a member of the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section in Neurological Practice.

Marie has extensive experience in the field of neurological occupational therapy, spending her career working in acute units, rehabilitation units and in the community. She currently works as Team Leader of a highly regarded community stroke team in the Merseyside area, assessing and treating clients with complex conditions.

As an independent OT, Marie works closely with her client and their family to develop a personalised treatment plan which helps the client maximise their independence. This includes equipment provision, manual handling and seating advice and physical or cognitive rehabilitation.
