Lois is an expert Occupational Therapist with over 19 years’ experience. She specialises in Functional and Neurological Rehabilitation, delivering holistic assessments and interventions for clients in their own home. Lois is based in Perth, Scotland, and visits clients around central Scotland. She has worked for the NHS, in the community and outpatient units, as well as in the private sector.
Lois has experience working with clients requiring general rehabilitation due to various medical conditions, organising and supporting hospital discharge. She has specialist training in Neurological Rehabilitation and more specifically stroke rehabilitation. Lois delivers physical and cognitive assessments to clients, applying the Bobath concept in treatment. She recommends intervention such as stroke rehabilitation, fatigue management, vocational rehabilitation, and advice on carrying out daily life activities such as cleaning, washing, and eating.
Lois is committed to her continual professional development, completing further qualifications and undertaking voluntary work. Lois has achieved a post graduate certificate in Neurological Rehabilitation, completed the Bobath course, and additional training on splinting for abnormal tone. She also has undertaken a support volunteer role with the MS Society and voluntary work with the Stroke Association.
