She works with a diverse range of conditions, including Neurological Disorders, Brain Injury, Spinal Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Stroke, Amputations, and Osteoporosis. Dearbhla’s specialisms include fatigue management, routine planning, daily living skills, community access, balance and coordination, self-care, cognitive assessments, complex discharge planning, and expert witness training.
With over a decade of clinical experience across various settings, she has held significant roles, such as Band 7 Acute Stroke Team Lead. Dearbhla's expertise includes complex discharge planning to support early discharge for stroke rehabilitation, including home assessments, adaptive equipment, and daily living activities. She is committed to supporting her clients’ independence and ensuring their home environments facilitate their needs. She maintains a high level of professional development and engages in continuous learning through conferences, supervision, and educational talks. Dearbhla is a member of the RCOT Specialist Sections for Neurological Rehabilitation and Independent Practice, as well as the Association of Occupational Therapy of Ireland.
