Lucy is an experienced Occupational Therapist working across East Anglia, specialising in Functional Rehabilitation, Housing and Equipment, and Moving and Handling. She has worked in various settings, supporting patients with mental health conditions, orthopaedic needs, palliative care, Parkinson’s, and visual impairments. Her expertise spans adolescent mental health and physical rehabilitation for the elderly, ensuring patient-centred interventions tailored to individual needs.
Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2016 from the University of East Anglia, Lucy has gained extensive experience in both mental and physical health. She began her career in an adolescent mental health inpatient unit, where she helped develop and facilitate a therapeutic programme that included self-esteem work, meal preparation for individuals with eating disorders, and systemic family therapy sessions.
Following this, Lucy undertook a rotation in an acute hospital and then transitioned to a senior role in a physical rehabilitation hospital, where she worked closely with physiotherapists to assess patients and create therapy programmes aimed at promoting independence.
In addition to her clinical work, Lucy is an associate lecturer at the University of East Anglia, where she has delivered lectures on the role of occupational therapy in palliative care and the integration of mental and physical health in clinical reasoning. Her commitment to education and training reflects her dedication to advancing the profession and ensuring high-quality care for patients.
