Karen

Occupational Therapist Karen specialises in Rehabilitation, covering the Greater Manchester and Cheshire regions. She works with adults and older adults, addressing a range of conditions including Mental Health Difficulties (such as Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar Disorder), Dementia, Frailty, and Physical Health Issues. Her expertise includes managing challenges in activities of daily living, leisure activities, transfers, motivation, memory, social isolation, confidence, and routine management.

Qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 2011 and holding an Advanced Occupational Therapy Master’s degree since 2017, Karen has a rich background in the NHS across acute and community mental health settings. She has developed comprehensive occupational therapy pathways, utilising standardised assessments and evidence-based interventions.

Karen’s skills extend to clinical supervision, professional development, and continued learning through research and training. She is proficient in assessment and formulation, with qualifications in Assessment of Motor and Processing Skills (AMPS) and experience in using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) assessments, including MOHOST and OSA.

She excels in creating meaningful intervention goals and delivering a variety of therapeutic interventions such as memory skills training, behavioural activation, activity adaptation, and environmental modifications, including equipment prescription. Karen is adept at occupational-focused care planning and providing detailed reports and evaluations of interventions.
