Janice

With almost 2 decades' experience in adult social care, Janice is an OT who is an advanced moving and handling practitioner and is very experienced with Local Authorities. Available to clients in all Yorkshire areas, and twice a month in Hertfordshire, Janice is a caring and empathetic practitioner whose valuable advice and support to clients in their own homes helps to ensure their occupational performance is improved through thoughtful occupational modifications, adaptations, and the provision of equipment (including manual handling assessments). As a Research Associate, Janice has worked on homecare provision and insights, and had several papers published as a PhD student on ergonomics; moving and handling care for older adults; and back care. Janice has experience with a variety of conditions that she supports with manual handling assessments, recommendations, and OT moving and handling and these include: Neurological conditions, Stroke, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal, Falls, Respiratory, Dementia, Seating and posture; daily living activities including personal care tasks, meal preparation, environmental modifications; planning and execution of activities including pacing techniques, falls prevention and management; manual handling including complex handling situations, Single Handed Care promoting moving with dignity, and Manual handling training.
