Samantha

Samantha is a specialist Occupational Therapist with particular expertise in Housing & Equipment. She is located in Pocklington, just outside of York, and covers a client base across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Samantha has experience supporting clients with a variety of conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, motor neurone disease, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, general frailty, and arthritic conditions.

Having worked extensively in the community and as part of a team working across children and adults' social care, Samantha has developed excellent clinical knowledge and skills. She can provide moving and handling assessments, minor and major home adaptations, simple and complex pieces of equipment, and rehousing reports.

Samantha works with children and adults of all ages to enable them to live as safely and independently as possible. She understands the barriers to independence and the ways in which these can be overcome to achieve positive outcomes for individuals. Samantha can assess for and recommend a wide range of home adaptations including bathroom, kitchen, and access adaptations, as well as more complex projects such as extensions and loft conversions.

Samantha continues to develop her skills by taking part in regular clinical supervision, completing written reflections, and attending training courses relevant to her chosen speciality.
