The OT Practice is launching an educational series for charities and benevolent funds exploring why Occupational Therapy should an essential component to supporting beneficiaries and their families.
Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages, helping them to carry out the activities that they need or want to do in order to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
Throughout 2023, with the help of some from our charities clients, we are producing a series of newsletters and webinars to illustrate the practical application of Occupational Therapy, examining common difficulties that OTs help people overcome and bringing those solutions to life with case studies and interviews with beneficiaries who have experienced the benefits of Occupational Therapy.

Over the coming months, drawing on our experience and that of the charities we support, we will be sharing insights into how OT can provide solutions for grant managers and case workers looking for safe and responsible ways to support their beneficiaries using charitable funds.
In this live webinar we will be discussing the practical application of occupational therapy for charities who issue grants and support to individuals to help them lead independent and fulfilling lives. Starting with an introduction to OT we will also briefly cover some of the more specialist areas of OT to give a full and holistic picture of how occupational therapy can help your beneficiaries, with an opportunity for questions at the end.
The second part of our webinar series will be an opportunity for those to missed the first to catch up, again discussing the practical application of occupational therapy starting with an introduction to OT and also briefly cover some of the more specialist areas. In part 2 there be will focus on questions and particular area of interest prompted by our educational series since launching.

Silvia suffered a heavy fall which left her struggling to wash and was unable to access her garden without fear of falling again. Having worked in a bank for over 30 years Silvia contacted the Bank Workers Charity, who organised an occupational therapy assessment. With their help and the OTs recommendations, her home and garden were adapted enabling her to regain her independence.
As David's health deteriorated, he was struggling to cope physically and became socially isolated. Unable to manage simple tasks or leave his home, a friend suggested he contact the Royal British Legion.
Following a traumatic surgery Rosemary was left paralysed from the chest down. Unable to return to her home, life with her husband Phil was turned upside down. With help from the RAF Benevolent Fund and occupational therapy they found and adapted a new home that allowed them a life together.
John had a fall following a deterioration of his health and since then has been struggling with his mobility at home and in the community. With support from the RAF Benevolent Fund, his OT recommended solutions enabling him to be more independent at home and to give him the confidence to get out into the community again.
